The curriculum is dedicated for pupils in the primary schools, focusing on SDG 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities. The modules and learning material
will increase students’ knowledge of ecological city planning and equip them to be active agents of social change. The curriculum is consisting of the following topics:
- The Theory of Ian McHarg on Environmental Planning
- Trees and Forests
- Urban Mobility, Health and Human-Nature Connection
- Caring for Water
- Connectivity and Animal Migration
- Urban Agriculture
This is based on the Theories of Ian McHarg (Designing with Nature, 1961). While his concept was developed in 1969, yet his theories are still relevant today. The pupils are
expected to design their own concept of a sustainable city using Lego bricks and based on the theories that will be the content of this curriculum, as well as based on their local reality,
In effect, the pupils will not only be listening to lectures but will also be doing an ideal design of a sustainable city using the lego bricks.
