Adult education and climate literacy are essential for proper global response to the environmental and climate change challenges. Helping people understand the impact of the climate change, as well as encouraging them to change their lifestyles is important step towards building a more sustainable future for all. In that context, GEA is designed to encourage critical thinking, to raise awareness and understanding among adult population in target municipalities, as well as to open a dialogue between policy-makers and the local community on environment and climate change issues.

The project team aims to increase opportunities of disadvantaged adults to engage with their communities in environmental and climate actions; to develop an open e-learning program for adult educators that, in the future, will support community engagement in environment and climate change action; to develop a set of resources so to increase eco-consciousness among adults; to encourage a shared decision-making process and co-design of environmental policies and to ensure wide and sustainable access to GEA results among adult learners, educators, CSOs and policy-makers
