GREEENARIUM is an innovative Erasmus+ project that brings the world of nature closer to primary school pupils through digital tools, interactive learning, and playful exploration. Running from September 2025 to August 2028, the project creates a virtual natural science museum designed to support environmental awareness, curiosity, and modern teaching practices across Europe.

Project Objectives
GREEENARIUM aims to:

  • enhance environmental literacy and curiosity among young learners through digital and outdoor experiences;
  • provide teachers with practical, modern, and engaging educational resources;
  • promote inclusion by co-creating content with children with special needs;
  • build a long-lasting digital infrastructure that will support schools beyond the project’s lifetime;
  • strengthen European cooperation and exchange of good practices in nature-based education.

The GREEENARIUM experience is built through two core digital tools:
1. Augmented Reality Mobile App: “Guess Who Lives Here?”
This AR application allows pupils to explore which birds, insects, and trees live around them. Using their smartphones, they learn about species directly on-site — making environmental learning fun, interactive, and hands-on.

2. GREEENARIUM Web Platform – A Three-Room Virtual Museum
The online platform will host the full digital museum composed of:
Exhibition Room – A main collection of birds, insects, and trees from North Macedonia, Denmark, Greece, and Portugal and Two additional collections co-created by pupils and children with special needs
Education Room – A digital handbook with educational activities and Curriculum-aligned materials that teachers can easily integrate into lessons
Entertainment Room – Educational games including quizzes, puzzles, and problem-solving scenarios and Interactive content linked to the species and themes of the other rooms

Planned Activities

  • Develop and launch the fully functional AR mobile application “Guess Who Lives Here?”.
  • Create and publish the complete digital museum with three rooms.
  • Train 10 teachers in online didactic resource design and platform usage.
  • Design and upload 180 digital educational activities for pupils.
  • Guide pupils in developing 15 environmental protection strategies showcased in the museum.
  • Produce three sets of educational games: quizzes, puzzles, and problem-solving scenarios.
  • Organize a series of promotional and outreach events in schools across all partner countries.
  • Reach 10,000+ visitors to the virtual museum during the project period.

Project Partners
The project is coordinated by Eco Logic – North Macedonia.
Partners include:
Innopixel APS – Denmark
Doukas School – Greece
Municipality of Lousada – Portugal
AKATA MAKATA Kindergarten School – Greece
Municipality of Karposh – North Macedonia

Looking Ahead
By 2028, GREEENARIUM will become a rich, interactive, and inclusive digital learning environment that connects pupils with nature in a modern and inspiring way. The virtual museum will continue to live and grow as a free educational resource, supporting schools, teachers, and communities long after the project ends.
